Why Volunteer?

The Peterborough Children’s Water Festival could not happen without the actions and energy of people like you! By participating in the Festival you are not only helping make a day of fun for children but you are also helping to educate them on how to live sustainably with water, which is extremely important for the health and wellbeing of our community.

About the Festival

Approximately 100 volunteers are needed each day to help run the Festival. Approximately 800 students from Grades 2 to 5 from the City and County of Peterborough will attend each day. They will participate in 30- 35 water themed activities.

What Does a Volunteer Do?

As a volunteer, you can help run the activities, greet students and teachers when they arrive, direct groups, and assist Riverview Park and Zoo staff keep the grounds clean and safe. All volunteers are provided with the materials and information needed for their roles.

Volunteers are expected to make a one-day commitment from 8 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m. on their scheduled day. You may volunteer for more than one day if you wish.
